Džijan Emin, composer, conductor, orchestrator, and one of Macedonia’s finest musicians, is bringing to the stage a new eclectic soundscape. If back in the day with the acoustic band “Project Zlust” he transformed the sound of Macedonian music by creating new stylistic, aesthetical, interpretative and narrative trajectories, now, almost a decade later, these ideas come back in a new, contemporary and very attractive package. Džijan Emin now fuses the symphonic orchestra with a big band and skillfully combines the large orchestral sound with soloist virtuosity, adding a touch of subtle esoteric electronics in the mix. “Džijan Emin and the Magical Orchestra” is the name of this new project that brings to the stage some of the best Macedonian musicians and creates magic that doesn’t leave anyone indifferent. The humor which is an inseparable part of Emin’s creations is also present in his music. His recent concert appearances include the project “Dive deep” at the Antique theatre in Ohrid as part of the Ohrid Summer Festival, a performance in London’s Royal Festival Hall with the world famous dj Derrick May and orchestra, two open air concerts with the Macedonian Philharmonic orchestra as well as the project “The voice of the Ohrid Lake”.
